My name is Dave, 'The Wildlife Friendly Gardener'
I live in Euxton, Chorley and garden in the Leyland & Chorley area.
I have been gardening for over 20 years, working both in my own garden and gardening for other people.
Since the state of nature report, May 2013, I have been particularily interested in the wildlife side of gardening and what we can do in our gardens to help support wildlife.
I was involved in developing a Community Wildlife Garden Project in Chorlton, Manchester. This involved wildlife habitat creation for birds, hedgehogs, bees, bats and amphibians.
I offer a wide range of all year round general garden services:
grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning, weeding, leaf clearing, planting, raised beds etc
As well as Wildlife Habitat Creation:
putting up nest boxes, installing hedgehog houses/feeding stations, bug hotels, log piles, wildflower borders & meadows, small ponds.
I mend gates, fences, sheds and other garden related items and offer a pressure washing service for patios, decking, paths etc and a garden rubbish removal service.
I am an organic gardener, I do not use weedkiller or slug pellets because they get into the wildlife food chain, I like to work 'with nature' as much as possible.
I use Aspen environmentally friendly fuel in my lawn mowers and zero emissions Husqvarna battery tools.
